About Lisa

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Throughout my schooling, I worked at Sherwood Park Sports Physiotherapy as a physiotherapy assistant, which enabled me to gain work experience, apply knowledge, as well as reinforce my desire to become a Physiotherapist.

I understand that the health industry is ever changing, and as such, I continue to supplement my university education with additional courses. I am certified through Complete Concussion Management to treat and manage concussions and recently completed my Dry Needling certification. In my undergrad, I worked as a Certified Personal Trainer through CSEP, which gave me the opportunity to work with the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos doing fitness testing. I’ve also spent many hours working and volunteering for other organizations such as the Running Room, the Steadward Centre, and Special Olympics Alberta.

I grew up doing competitive gymnastics, and while at university played for various recreational sports teams. In my spare time, I enjoy being active both indoors and outdoors and am always looking for the next adventure. I carry my passion for health, activity, and sport into my work – I believe with the right combination of education, rehab and determination, everybody can achieve a healthy lifestyle and return to doing the activities they love most.

About Toni

As a young, multisport athlete with numerous injuries I was unintentionally drawn to physical therapy. After receiving treatment myself I recognized how this career would easily allow me to combine all of my health related passions.

This led me to begin my post-secondary education in my hometown of Fort McMurray at Keyano College. There, I played volleyball for two years where I gained valuable knowledge around competitive sport and team dynamics. To complete my degree, I transferred to the University of British Columbia – Okanagan campus and graduated with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics. Soon after, I completed the Masters of Physical Therapy program at the University of Alberta.

I use an active treatment approach by incorporating manual therapy with a strong emphasis on exercise prescription. My treatment programs are guided by client goals and are tailored so they can be integrated into daily life and enjoyable.

I strive to have every client reach beyond their pre-injury baseline while providing them with the tools to create resilience to future injury.

Through clinical experience, I have found that a main interest of mine currently lies with sports related injuries. I enjoy working with athletes of all ages, competitive level and sport of choice.

I am also passionate about pelvic health and raising awareness on its importance for many individuals.

In my free time, you’ll find me socializing with friends or family, trying new local restaurants and cafes or doing something active. While I usually like to sweat by lifting weights, I recently ran my first half marathon and this year I plan to start road biking!

About Graham

I initially graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelors of Science, majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. I found myself working in a fast-paced environment as a research chemist for a pharmaceutical company for a number of years but came to the realization that I wanted to help people in a more direct, face-to-face way. I then returned to the University of Alberta where I completed my Masters in Physical Therapy to pursue this. After graduating, I furthered my education by becoming certified in scoliosis management under the Schroth method of treatment before joining the SPSP team.

Growing up injury prone, I developed an appreciation for what physiotherapy had to offer and how beneficial it could be to keep me involved with the active lifestyle I wanted to maintain. Now getting the opportunity to share these benefits with others and help people achieve their goals, I am constantly reminded how grateful I am for this new direction I’ve found myself in.

About Peter

I completed my Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Prior to that, I earned a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan, where I also competed as a pole vaulter with the varsity track and field team. It was during my time as a varsity athlete that I discovered how physiotherapy could help during and after injuries, while also optimizing biomechanics to improve performance.

I bring that same approach to my practice. I aim to help you recover from your injury while ensuring you are moving and performing at your best for your desired activities. Whether you’re an ultimate weekend warrior or hoping to keep up with your grandkids, my approach is to create a partnership where we can decide on the best plan together. My practice incorporates a mix of evidence-guided strength and conditioning principles, education, and manual therapy.

Outside of the clinic, I try to stay active with family adventures, fitting in running, cycling, and Olympic weightlifting.

It’s an amazing feeling to be able to lift others and help them to feel healthier, happier, and stronger.
