About Matthew
I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014, earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Honours and Great Distinction. In 2016, I completed a Master’s in Physical Therapy at the same institution, where I was recognized as the Most Distinguished Graduate.
Upon graduation, I began working in Orthopaedics and Sport Rehabilitation in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I later completed a Sports Physiotherapy Fellowship with Huskie Athletics at the University of Saskatchewan.
After this fellowship, I served as a full-time therapist for Huskie Athletics at the University of Saskatchewan. Here, I managed injuries and coordinated rehabilitation for the varsity football, track & field, and soccer programs. Before relocating to Lethbridge, I spent a year at the world-renowned Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Centre in London, Ontario, where I had the opportunity to work with a leading sport medicine team.
I am also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and seek to integrate these principles into my rehab programs. I strongly believe in using assessment and treatment strategies that are best evidence-based practice. After understanding your injury history and situation, my sessions usually focus on education, load/activity management, and progressive exercise prescription.
I enjoy treating all types of musculoskeletal injuries, with a special interest in sports injury management, knees and ACLs, running injuries, concussion and vestibular presentations, and individuals experiencing persistent pain complaints. My ultimate goal is always to get you back to the things you love to do.
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy golfing, running, weight lifting, and spending as much time as possible outdoors with my wife Chelsea, a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Lethbridge, and our daughter, Emilia.

I graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelors of Kinesiology majoring in Human Kinetics in 2020. I then went on to graduate from the University of Alberta with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy in 2022.
My career choice of being a Physiotherapist was rooted in my love for sport and staying active. I grew up on a ranch near Waterton Lakes National Park where we spent most of our free time hiking or horseback riding in the mountains. I also played minor hockey out of Lethbridge, going on to play in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (Humboldt Broncos), North American Hockey League (Odessa Jackalopes), and USports (University of Regina).
Sport has taken me many places, and through the journey fed my interest in physical therapy, due to spending time in clinics myself. After I stopped playing hockey my goal became to enable people to be able to do what they love doing. If it wasn’t for the health care professionals that worked with our teams, I would have never made it to where I am today, and now I want to do the same to help people reach their goals whether it is sport, work, leisure, or getting back to enjoying a healthy/happy quality of life.
In my downtime I enjoy working on the family ranch, spending time in the mountains, downhill skiing, photography, and staying active in the gym.

Born and raised in Lethbridge, I grew up a multi-sport athlete but excelled in soccer and
played with team Alberta before competing at the collegiate level. During my years as
an athlete, I experienced plenty of injuries and this ignited in me a passion for the
human body, and the body’s ability to heal and recover.
In 2020 I graduated from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology
and an interest in injury rehabilitation. I decided to follow my interest and I continued my
education at Palmer College of Chiropractic West, where I graduated in 2023 with my
Doctor of Chiropractic degree. During my time at Palmer, I was elected to the Sports
Council where I expanded my knowledge and gained experience and skills in sport
rehabilitation.
I take a collaborative approach to care and enjoy working with other healthcare
professionals to ensure my patients reach their goals. I combine the manual techniques
and knowledge I have acquired through my education and continuing education courses
to provide my patients with a tailored treatment plan that is patient-centered.
Outside of the clinic, you will find me in the gym, running, as well as exploring the
outdoors with my dog, Murphy.

My path to becoming a strength coach and kinesiologist is perhaps a little different from that of many others in the field. I had a very active childhood in my hometown of Winnipeg, but I didn’t develop a conventional sporting background. After dabbling in a variety of sports and physical hobbies, I gravitated towards skateboarding in my teens. It provided me with an exceptionally challenging physical endeavour that kept me active, creative, and enriched my life with unique friendships into my adult years.
After a period of inactivity and dissatisfaction with my physical wellbeing, I discovered resistance training as a new physical challenge. This developed into an intense intellectual pursuit in the science of performance and exercise. After many years of self-learning, my interest in science and the practical application of research led me to pursue formal education in the field.
I graduated with a Diploma in Exercise Science from Lethbridge College in 2020 and earned a BSc in Kinesiology with Great Distinction from the University of Lethbridge in 2024. I am currently a Professional Kinesiologist with the Alberta Kinesiology Association as well as a CSEP-certified CPT and High Performance Specialist. I am also fortunate to have been given the opportunity to coach the strength and conditioning program for the cross-country and indoor track teams at Lethbridge College, which I have been doing since 2020.
With a newfound interest in rehabilitation and my background in exercise and sport science, it is my goal to help the people I work with feel better and perform at their best—whatever that may look like for them. I encourage those who believe they are starting their performance journey late to consider that their prime might just be ahead of them. And for those who got started early, I would like to help nurture the gift of performance they have given themselves.

About Brittney
I was born and raised here in Lethbridge, AB where I grew up playing a variety of sports including badminton, volleyball and competitive soccer but ultimately focusing on soccer competing with the Lethbridge Football Club (LFC) and eventually Alberta Major Soccer League (AMSL).
In 2017, I was recruited to the University of Lethbridge Women’s soccer team where I played competitively for 4 years and eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Throughout my time on the team, I quickly grew to love our strength and conditioning sessions which allowed me to understand the importance and benefits of in-season and off-season training regimes.
During my first year at the UofL, I suffered an ACL injury, resulting in 2 major knee surgeries. Going through this process and routinely attending physiotherapy appointments helped me gain an appreciation and passion for injury rehabilitation and prevention as well as the significance of performing movements with quality.
Making the transition from athlete to strength and conditioning coach allows me to utilize my experience and help educate my clients regardless of age and physical activity background, while also continuing to expand my knowledge in injury rehabilitation and sports performance.
Outside of the clinic, I still enjoy playing soccer, weightlifting, hiking, softball, and skiing.

About Andre
Growing up in Brazil, I played competitive volleyball for six years with my club team Minas Tenis Clube. In 2014, I won a gold medal competing for the Brazilian National team during the World Military Games in Rio de Janeiro.
During this time I was able to learn first hand from not only my role models in the sport but also from the coaches, athletic trainers and rehab therapists who always helped us compete at the highest possible level. It was during that time that I developed my passion for exercise therapy and sport performance which led me to pursuit a career as a Kinesiologist.
In 2014, I decided to leave Brazil and follow my dreams of studying and playing volleyball in Canada. I graduated from Lethbridge College in 2016 with a diploma in Business Administration and furthered my education at Vancouver Island University where I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology in 2020.
While studying at the Lethbridge College I was fortunate enough to play for both the men’s volleyball and soccer team. During my time at VIU I competed with the men’s volleyball team and went on to compete in the CCAA National Championship.
Being an athlete has led me to realize the importance of training on and off the court to not only optimize performance levels but also to prevent injuries. My goal at The Bridge is to educate individuals of all ages and abilities on how to optimize their lifestyle and performance through proper training and exercise. Our goal is to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance and help our patients and athletes achieve the highest level of performance both on and off the court.

About Shelby
I graduated from the University of Calgary in 2017 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology. After my degree, I worked as a Kinesiologist for four years, which allowed me to gain experience in the rehabilitation world, but I always knew that my end goal was Physiotherapy.
In 2021, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and applied to Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, where I obtained my Master’s in Physiotherapy with Merit in December 2022, before returning home to Southern Alberta.
Growing up, I played a variety of different sports, with hockey, baseball, and golf serving as my main focuses. During my undergraduate degree, I played hockey for the Calgary Warriors in the AJFHL, but in my third year, I unfortunately suffered an ACL injury.
This exposure to the world of rehabilitation and performance had a massive influence on my decision to pursue physiotherapy for my own career. Currently, I play recreational hockey, strength train, and play golf as often as I can, even though my handicap won’t show it!
I became a Physiotherapist because I truly want to help others return to doing the things they love, whether that’s in sport, at work, or in their everyday activities. This is something I hope to achieve through evidence-based practice, exercise-based rehabilitation, and patient education.

About Kayla
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2018 at the University of Lethbridge and my Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2021 at the University of Alberta.
I have always been extremely passionate about injury rehabilitation and encouraging others to pursue a healthy balanced lifestyle by participating in activities they love! My interest in physiotherapy stemmed from my involvement in sport growing up.
I grew up in Lethbridge and moved away from home in grade 10 to pursue my figure skating career. I was accepted to the National Sport School and trained at Canada Olympic Park; here, I had the pleasure of being surrounded by elite athletes from a variety of sports.
I also had a well-rounded team that assisted with on-ice technical skills, strength and conditioning, dance, nutrition, sport psychology, and rehabilitation. Through this experience, I learned the importance of having an interdisciplinary team for recovery and performance.
As a former athlete, I share my passion for movement with others. My treatment style combines manual therapy and exercise using an individually tailored approach.
I also have a passion for pelvic health, as it is an extremely important area that is commonly overlooked. Pelvic floor conditions are treatable, just like any other body part! My goal as a physiotherapist is to help patients get back doing the activities they love, as quickly as possible!

About Wes
I graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Great Distinction. I had the privilege to manage athletic injuries and provide taping to university athletes in track and field as well as swimming as a student athletic trainer during my undergrad. In 2024, I earned my Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta.
I have a deep-rooted passion for strength training. I obtained my CSEP-CPT and high-performance certification and worked as a personal trainer and strength coach for 2 years prior to my schooling as a physiotherapist. I also have been invested in training and competing in the IPF for powerlifting (squat, bench, deadlift) since 2019.
My love of physiotherapy began when I was young, as I played several sports such as football, basketball, and rugby, and unfortunately dealt with many injuries. The most notable were a PCL injury, sprained and broken ankles, and a broken hip. Physiotherapists have been essential in allowing me to get back to the sports I love and enjoy being physically active. Physiotherapy has always been my dream job as I have wanted to give back to others the same support that was offered to me in my youth.
I enjoy assisting individuals with all types of musculoskeletal injuries to return to activities they enjoy most. I have a particular interest in hands and am striving to improve my knowledge in this specialty as hands have a large impact on an individual’s daily life.
In my free time I enjoy powerlifting, snowboarding, bouldering, golfing, biking, and playing the occasional pickleball or badminton. I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and rafting with my wife, and our daughter Laia.

I grew up in Calgary, Alberta and moved to Saskatoon in 2015 to attend the University of Saskatchewan. I graduated in 2020 with my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and I then pursued my Masters of Physical Therapy.
During my undergraduate degree, I was lucky enough to play five years with the women’s basketball team where we were fortunate to win two USport National Championships and four Canada West Championships. I was also selected to represent Canada at the 2019 FISU games in Naples, Italy.
Being a varsity athlete, I had my fair share of injuries over the years and I spent a lot of time in the physio clinic which originally sparked my interest in the profession. I love the idea of pursuing a career that involves my love for exercise and moving the body with the ability to empower individuals throughout their rehab journey.
I am super passionate about getting people back to doing the things they love, whether that be their sport or their activities of daily living, through education, evidence-based, and exercise-based rehab. I graduated from the University of Alberta with my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2012 and my Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2014. I moved to Lethbridge after graduating and worked for several years at local clinics before realizing that my idea of physio was quite different than what was being offered. This led to me branching out on my own and opening my own clinic (Velocity Physical Therapy in 2019) in order to pursue my vision for rehab and performance before teaming up to create the Bridge!
I have been a multi-sport athlete all my life, with my main focus being on soccer (playing in the ACAC and Edmonton Premier/Major Leagues during my undergrad). Since then I have gone back to my multisport roots through triathlons, bouldering, different types of training, and of course - still playing soccer. My husband and I love the outdoors and get out to the mountains as often as we can.
Working with athletes has always been my passion! I love that they are a population that allows me to blend my nerdy fascination with movement/mechanics with my love of fitness and sport performance. My focus is on working with athletes to help them move better, to understand their body better and become more resilient - with manual therapy and Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) as needed to kickstart things. From rehab to performance, I love empowering athletes throughout their journey to be at their best

I was born in the Netherlands and grew up in southern Alberta. After having three kids I decided
to start working out, mainly running which came with its own minor injuries which led to getting massages.
It felt like the right fit for me and I went back to school to become a massage therapist - I graduated from MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in 2019 and am a member in good standing with the
Massage Therapist Association of Alberta.
With my education and work experience I have gained an interest in therapeutic massage. I like helping individuals achieve their rehabilitative goals.

I graduated from Bethel University in 2018 majoring in Human Bioenergetics. I then went on to Northwestern Health Sciences University where I graduated summa cum laude in 2021 with my Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a specialization in Sports Injury Management.
I played my minor hockey here in Lethbridge and continued on all the way up to the NCAA level, playing all four years during my time at Bethel University in St. Paul Minnesota. I served as captain my final two seasons, was an all-academic all four years and all-conference my senior year.
After graduating from Northwestern, I went on to obtain my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation. I like to incorporate principles from this as well as my background in human bioenergetics into my rehabilitation protocols with my patients, utilizing concepts such as progressive load management and movement assessments.
Growing up as an athlete I realized the importance of having a team of health professionals to guide you through the injury process as well as returning back to competition at a high level. I like working with athletes of all ages from a variety of sports, but I also enjoy treating individuals from all walks of life. I customize each patient’s treatment plan based on their lifestyle, fitness level, history of injuries, and their goals.
