About Trenton
I completed my Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia in 2020. I continued my education at the University of Alberta where I completed my Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy.
While at UBC, I played on the Men’s Volleyball team for two years, volunteered as a student athletic trainer for the Vancouver Whitecaps, and helped run athletic programs for the Canucks Autism Network.
Throughout my time as a varsity athlete and during my education, I developed a passion for integrating human kinetics and rehabilitation with athletic performance.
In the clinic, my mission is to help patients reach their goals and return to the activities they love. To do so, I rely heavily on an active treatment approach paired with manual therapy to reduce pain, improve performance and build resilience. After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, I pursued my Master’s in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta, graduating in 2017. Through running a landscaping and building maintenance company to pay for school and playing competitive hockey growing up, I am very familiar with sports injuries and general aches and pains. I take pride in being able to help others through their injuries and get back to doing what they love to do!
Growing up as an avid golfer and hockey player, I suffered my fair share of injuries, helping me understand the need to get back to your sport. About Leanne
I completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Alberta, and then moved to Australia to complete a Masters in Physiotherapy Studies from the University of Queensland. After finishing my Masters, I worked in Brisbane, Australia before returning home to practice in Edmonton. The Aussies are world leaders in physio and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there.
My work experience, both international and local, includes both public and private sectors of physiotherapy. I was also recently certified to teach Pilates, and find that the principles of Pilates, fit very well with physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
I believe patients need to actively engage in their recovery for success. The quality of
your life is greatly affected by your ability to participate in and enjoy your favourite
activities, so I am to personalize your treatment towards these things. I encourage my patients to learn to move their bodies well, both safely and efficiently.
As a former competitive figure skater I have learned to appreciate how important it is to
take care of your body. Since retiring from skating, I have done some off-ice coaching in
this area. In my spare time I try to stay active with a variety of things- skating, hiking, or
hitting the river valley for a bike ride. In my spare time I also love going to concerts,
getting some fresh air in the mountains, or kicking back at the lake.
